Cascading sand forms a screen onto which a film or slide is projected, creating a floating, ethereal three-dimensional image.
As the sand falls it is carried by a strong jet of air from a collection trough back to the feeder overhead. This enables the sand to be perpetually recycled and ensure that a the shape and depth of the screen is consistent.
